To all residents in the Parish of Hulme Walfield & Somerford Booths
Hulme Walfield and Somerford Booths Parish Council would like to thank all the members of the community who took the time and effort to complete the traffic survey circulated last year.
We had an amazing response with 61 surveys returned with great information on your views of traffic in our parishes.
The feedback from you validated the opinions we had about traffic, specifically the concerns you have with and the trend for increases in traffic using our lanes and the dangers to road users. The Parish Council subsequently instructed VTC Consultants to complete a full traffic survey in six different locations within the Parishes. The survey continually measured numbers, speed and type of vehicle for seven days.
You will appreciate that this is a lot of data. The initial findings provide evidence to support the views from our survey. We are now in the process of analysing these results in detail and working with the consultants to establish the current picture of traffic around our parishes.
VTC Consultants will also be at our Annual Parish Meeting on 5th April to present the results in more detail. You are all invited to attend to hear about the survey and ask any questions you have.
May we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the parish council’s activities.
