At the Parish Council meeting on 17th March, councillors voted unanimously to donate a total of £2000 to provide financial assistance to charitable organisations helping to relieve the suffering of the those caught up in the Ukrainian crisis.

It was decided that £750 would be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee and £750 to the International Aid Trust (pictured on the left). On Friday 25th March International Aid volunteers sorted, packed and dispatched ten 45ft articulated lorries of aid. More is planned as more aid and funding is received. A donation of £500 was given to the Ukraine Support Network, a group of local people living within the 6 Church parishes local to Hulme Walfield and Somerford Booths. The group already plans to host 7 Ukrainians locally.
