Despite lockdown restrictions there was a good attendance at Christ Church Eaton on Sunday 8th November.
The weather was kind for the social distancing service held outdoors at the Cenotaph in the Church grounds. This was led by Doug Wisener and his wife Diane. This was a moving remembrance, accompanied by piper Reg Flower. Poignant letters sent back home by a soldier who later fell in battle and was a member of the Wisener family were read out, prior to the laying of wreaths by representatives of the local Parish Councils. John Dines read out the names of the fallen soldiers from WW1 and WW2 who came from Hulme Walfield, Somerford Booths and Eaton villages. The 2 minutes silence was then observed.
‘At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them’
