Download NOTICE OF REFERENDUM – Hulme Walfield and Somerford Booths

The Neighbourhood Plan has now reached its final stage and has been approved, with some modifications, by the H M Planning Inspector, Mary O’Rourke BA (Hons) Dip TP MRTPI.

The inspector published her report on 17th November. Cheshire East has adopted the recommended modifications and now the Hulme Walfield and Somerford Booths Neighbourhood Plan can proceed to referendum. The report and details of the modifications are available for you to view on the Parish Council website; https://hwsbparishcouncil.co.uk/the-plan/

The Neighbourhood Plan represents an opportunity for the Parish to exert control over the extent and type of development within its boundaries until 2030. We need you as a resident to decide whether you would like for the plan to be adopted by voting.

The referendum date has been set by Cheshire East Council as: 15th February, 2018. All residents living in the parishes who are registered to vote will be invited (in the same way as with any other vote) to the ballot box on the 15th February to answer the following question:

‘Do you want Cheshire East Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Hulme Walfield and Somerford Booths to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

Answer: Yes or No

Of those that vote, a majority is required for the plan to be made and be adopted as a planning document. The plan will not be used without a majority vote.

Referendum Day – Let us know if you require transport to VOTE on the 15th February – please contact Julie Mason jmasonparishclerk@gmail.com / 01260 641854 at least 24 hours beforehandand she can arrange transport to the venue on behalf of the Parish Council.

We would like to thank all residents that have supported this process so far, by responding to questionnaires and attending meetings, without your input the Plan would not have passed inspection.
