Finance, Budget & Expenditure

The Parish Council is open and transparent about the way it manages its finances. This page contains information on the way the Council protects its finances and what it has spent money on. The Council’s finances are monitored on a day to day basis by the Responsible Financial Officer (Parish Clerk). The Council appoints an internal auditor who assesses the Council’s compliance with relevant legislation.  The Parish Council is currently exempt from external audit as both its gross annual expenditure and gross annual income does not exceed £25,000.

The Precept

The Parish Council receives the majority of its income through the precept; an annual sum of money collected with the Council Tax by Cheshire East Council.
The precept, set by the Parish Council in November, for 2022/23 is £11,500 which is the same as the precept for the financial year 2021/22.  The tax base approved by Cheshire East Council for 2022/23 for our council is £288.82, this represents a charge of £39.92 per Band D property.
